On November 16th 2000, the
board of directors of the Internet Corporation
for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) announced
its selections for registry operators for
seven new top-level domains. The first of
these domain names that became available
and the only one unrestricted was the .info
TLD.
You can register your own personalised .info
web address, eg. bobsmith.info or CompanyInc.info
and that domain can be yours for life, just
as long as you keep it renewed.
There are absolutely no restrictions on
registering .info domain names and there
are no limitations as to what you can do
with it once registered. The only cost for
the domain name is the registration fee,

minimum registration period of 2 years.
